Getting a new Shih Tzu puppy can be a very exciting time, but it can also be a time where you can feel a sense of being overwhelmed with the task of training the new pup. Here are some important things to keep in mind:
When potty training your Shih Tzu puppy it is important you are consistent in some sort of training plan or schedule. Create regular times during the day to allow your puppy to potty. This might be once every hour or two. Remember that a puppy’s bladder is very weak, so you will have to frequently allow your dog moments to relieve itself. Yes, this means you will have to get up in the middle of the night! Read the rest of this entry »

There are two different ways to teach your parakeet to talk. One way is to train him/her to mimic what you are saying. This way is far less time consuming as all you need to do is repeat the same words consistently of what you want your parakeet to say whenever you are around him/her.
They other way is much more difficult because you are trying to train your bird to talk with some thought process behind what he/she is saying. This is done by explaining to your bird what you or he is doing in a few small words. For example, my parakeet loves to eat apple every day so every time I am about to get him some i say to him “want some apple” and I will continue to say that each and every time i get him some until he associates those words with the action. Eventually I hope he will ask me for the apple. Read the rest of this entry »

Yorkshire Terriers, commonly known as Yorkies, came from Yorkshire in Northern England during the 19th century. The Industrial Revolution sent many agricultural workers to Yorkshire to work in the coal mines. They brought with them various kinds of Terriers - such as Skye and Clydesdale- to catch rats that infested the mines. They were then bred with local long haired Terriers to produce Yorkies. A turtle terrarium is ideal if you want to show off your pet and decorate your house at the same time. You will be providing your turtle a habitat, and adding to the natural feel of your home.
You will need to get a tank large enough to accommodate your turtle when it reaches its maturity. The minimum turtle terrarium dimensions should be 3-4 times the length of the turtle, twice the length of the turtle in width, and 1.5-2 times the length of the turtle in height. Add 8-12 inches above the highest level the turtle can reach inside the tank so it cannot escape. Read the rest of this entry »
