Plesiotrygon iwamae is a freshwater stingray, commonly known as the Antenna Ray, they are the only member of the genus Pleisotrygon. They belong to the family Potamotrygonidae and to the class Elasmobranchii, which is what sharks belong to. They get to about 22 inches in length, this does not include the tail. Their distributionis the upper to lower Amazon River basin, from Ecuador to Belém, Brazil, in the Napo, Solimões, Amazonas and Pará rivers.

Antenna rays have smaller mouths than most other rays. Because of this, they feed on black worms, for tubifex worms. When young (under 10 inches) this species has trouble eating even the smallest night crawlers so blood worms would be better. Read the rest of this entry »

The German Shorthaired Pointer is a human family oriented and hunter dog. They need quite a bit of exercise and are just as willing to hunt as they are to play games in the yard. They can tend to roam and they are known as escape artists so a properly fenced in yard for exercise is ideal. Some say that a six foot or higher fence is necessary. They can tend to be noisy dogs. The red-tailed black sharks are one of the most beautiful aquarium fish on the market. They have a black body, red tail and a lovely shape that will imperss everyone looking at them. It’s really important to buy only one little shark because they get agressive when other red-tailed sharks are close to them. The aquarium must have a lot of hiding places because these fish love to hide and they might get pretty unhappy if they don’t have a space for their own. When your red-tailed shark is a baby he is harmless for other fish but when it gets older it might start killing here and there. The red sharks are also called red-tailed labeo and their specific name is labeo bicolor.

Four weeks ago, I told my lovely ferret ‘Oh little Bandit, don’t worry, we would solve it, cheer up baby’. Well, let me tell you the story. I bought a new tiny ferret, as I love having pets at home. But this little Bandit caused a huge mess indeed. He was pooping everywhere but his litter box, lots of bites and nips, besides getting some of our little stuff lost! Really so dynamic!
