Toby a cat who loves to go out in the rain. He has been locked in a garage for a day and a building site. He loves his bed and his science plan biscuits.
The Royal family loves pets as much as we do. Here is some history to keep your curiosity at bay.
Since the 17th century the Royals have been seen posing proudly with their beloved animals. Just some of the pets the Royals have owned are Pugs, King Charles Spaniels, Greyhounds and of course the most commonly associated – the Corgi.
King Edward VII’s pet was a terrier named Caesar. He outlived the King and at His Majesty’s funeral Caesar walked behind the coffin. As mentioned in a previous post, the current Queen is associated with the Corgi. At present the Queen owns three Corgis: Monty, Willow and Holly plus three Dorgis: Cider, Candy and Vulcan.
Corgis are mated with dachsunds (most notably Pipkin, who belonged to Princess Margaret) to create ‘Dorgis’. The Duchess of Cornwall owns two Jack Russell terriers, Tosca and Rosie. I hope this look into the Royal family has been as enjoyable for you as it has been for us.
