The tiger barb has long been one of the most popular and most kept aquarium fish species and there are today a wide variety of different color morphs available in the aquarium trade besides the common tiger barb. Such morphs include albino tiger barbs, green tiger barbs and golden tiger barbs.
The tiger barb originates in South-East Asia and are native to Indonesia and Malaysia. They live on the Malay Peninsula, on the island of Sumatra and on the island of Borneo. Discus fish hail from the black water tributaries of the Amazon. The vegetation and substrate in these waters has a high level of humic acid that causes the water to be soft or have an acidic Ph level. The Ph level should be around 5.5 to 6.5 for Discus fish. If you ask most people of how to breed guppies, their reply will usually be adding some guppies into a tank and wait for them to reproduce. True enough, that was a summary of how you going to breed guppies. I am going to list down some step by step method, if you do not agree with what I said, feel free to email me. The steps is serve as a general guide of producing guppies, thus it might not work well if you are breeding show fish.
Step 1: Get a 10 gallons tank. (5gallons will be minimum size, anything bigger is better)
